Der Förderverein der Freiwilligen Feuerwehr Nievern wurde bereits im November 1996 gegründet. In der Gründungsversammlung wurde beschlossen, das Feuerwehrwesen durch ideelle und materielle Unterstützung zu fördern, insbesondere die soziale Fürsorge der Feuerwehrangehörigen und der Alterskameraden.
Mit den Gründungen der Jugendfeuerwehr im Jahre 2007 und der Bambini-Feuerwehr im Jahre 2014 kamen weitere Aufgabenfelder auf den Förderverein zu, welche aber sehr gerne übernommen wurden.
Diese Fördermittel werden durch Mitgliedsbeiträge, Spenden und verschiedene Veranstaltungen erwirtschaftet.

Wir achten die Natur.
Der Verein besteht seit 1952 und hat derzeit ca. 50 Mitglieder.
Das Moderne Angeln ( catch and release ) ist bei uns nicht gestattet. Auch Echolote und von Boot aus Angeln ist untersagt. Seerosen und andere Wasserpflanzen sind zu schützen.
Das Angeln im Naturschutzgebiet ist für Gastangler strengsten untersagt.
Die Angelstrecke geht vom Kinderspielplatz ( vor der Staustufe ) bis zur Grenze Bad Ems.
Geangelt wird von Sonnenaufgang bis Sonnenuntergang.
